Get the favicon of a website

Our API lets you retrieve the favicon of any website. More preciely, it gets the icon used by these platforms:

  • Desktop browsers: the "classic" favicon
  • iOS: the Apple Touch icon
  • Android Chrome: the icon declared in the Web App Manifest, or another fallback icon (such as the Touch icon)
  • Windows 8 & 10: medium square tile icon used by the Metro UI
  • Mac OS Safari: the pinned tab icon

Accessing several icons (instead of only the classic favicon) can be handy to get a kind of "high resolution logo" for the website.
